The returning Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, has formally inaugurated the 6th Legislative Arm of the Council.
Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba made the proclamation at a ceremony held at the Council’s Legislative chamber on Thursday, July 31st, 2025.
According to the Chairman, the inauguration marks the constitution of the 6th Legislative Council and a significant step in the council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance and promote inclusive grassroots development across Ijede LCDA.

During the inaugural session, Hon. Basirat Kehinde, the Councillor representing Ward A, was elected as the Council Leader, Hon. Saka Nurudeen (Ward C), Deputy Leader, Hon. Mustapha Agbabiaka (Ward B), Majority Leader and Hon. Temilade Akinyemi (Ward D) – Chief Whip
Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba, in her address, thanked all community leaders and charged the newly sworn-in councillors to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and offer quality representation to the people they serve.

“I congratulate you all the elected Councilors. I implore you to uphold the rule of law and work collectively toward the development of our council area,” she stated.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated Councilors, Hon. Basirat Kehinde, the new Leader of the House, expressed gratitude to the council leadership and the Party (APC) for the opportunity to serve.
“I pledge to work closely with my colleagues to enact impactful by-laws that will enhance the well-being of the people of Ijede LCDA, she stated.

Some the eminent persons in attendance were Hon. Saheed Adefarasin Hassan, APC apex leader in Ijede LCDA, Chief Jamiu Adisa (Golden Jay), Hon. Femi Kabir, Vice Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Hon. Fadeyi Kehinde, immediate past Council Leader, Ijede LCDA, former Councilors, traditional chiefs and others.
